I have been very busy this weekend with clients from West Australian regional areas and when you think about it, access to certain services makes it very hard for brides who want to look perfect on their wedding day to organise their wedding. Unfortunately there is not much choice in WA’s regional areas.
I just wanted to tell you about my experiences with 3 clients over the last 10 days who came from Darwin, Kalgoorlie and Karratha (for those not familiar with WA: Darwin is over 4,000km away, Kalgoorlie 500km and Karratha 1,500km) .
When brides come to Perth from regional areas they normally try to make the most of the trip to visit the Perth wedding dress shops and organise as much as they can while in Perth.
Normally flights are not cheap and taking off time from work costs money (and leave allowance they will need for the Honeymoon!), therefore if after an hour or more consultation with me they decide to go ahead I will start designing their wedding gown on the same day while they are here in Perth.
I understand how important the time frame can be so try not to waste their time while they are here.
So how can this be done so quickly while still keeping the care and quality I pride myself on?
After the consultation I first take their measurements and while they are having a cup of coffee or head off for more shopping I will create a proper calico fitting so the sizes and proportions can accurately be measured on the day.
Then I will order the fabric and start to work on their gown ready for next time they come back to Perth for any other reason or just good old shopping. They just have to let me know when they will be back to Perth so we can get the timing right.
All will be prepared for next time they are back to Perth at which point I normally ask them to stay for the weekend to do couple of more fittings. That day I will just dedicate to this client and their gown will be ready and fitted perfectly by end of the weekend. It works out even better sometimes when Brides get married in Perth and they will be back in town very close to their wedding so a good time to finalise the gown close to their wedding day.
So if you are worried about the range of gowns available to you in your area and also have restrictions on the traveling back and forth let me know and I will do my best to look after you as I understand how difficult this can be.
